Why does CA:DE need contributions? CaptureAge for Definitive Edition was made in partnership with World's Edge. In addition to that we spent countless hours and a large chunk of our savings into making CA:Classic and CA:DE because we love the community around Age of Empires. While we don't expect to earn all of our efforts and investments back, we do have a lot of features we would love to add to CA:DE that we are convinced will revolutionise not just casting, but especially analysing and improving in the game. Unfortunately to make these a reality we will need to find additional ways of financial support.

Is CA:DE compatible with the Microsoft Store version? Yes. We now have preliminary support for non-Steam versions of the game. If you have an Xbox version of the game for PC (such as the Microsoft Store version), please test it and let us know how it goes.

Is this the final version? No, we've got a huge list of things to work on for the foreseeable future - keeping your feedback in mind of course. You can go to our Nolt.io to suggest and vote on features.

Why is CA:DE not displaying the teams correctly? The setting "Lock Teams" in the lobby has to be checked

How do I configure the shortcuts for CA:DE? CA:DE doesn't support custom shortcuts currently. For a list of shortcuts, please refer to our documentation page.

Why is CA:DE showing such a high idle count? The idle counters are aggregates, which means that the idle villager and idle TC timers can go up faster than real-time if more than one villager or more than one TC is being idled at once

Why does the CA:DE layout look odd on my display? CA:DE doesn't support uncommon screen resolutions very well currently. This will cause CA to look different on ultrawide monitors, oddly-sized windows, etc.

Will CA:DE ever support ultrawide resolutions? Yes. Ultrawide support is on our roadmap!

Why do some game alerts not show up? You may have disabled it in the notifications settings. Bring up the panel again by pressing Page Up and making sure your settings look good. If you have enabled everything and the alert doesn't show up, then we don't support it yet.

Why can't I subscribe to CA:DE Pro? There are several issues that could be impacting your ability to subscribe to CA:DE Pro. The best way to approach it is to write us to support@captureage.com

How can I report CA:DE bugs? You can report bugs in our Discord Server, our Nolt page, or by e-mailing us at support@captureage.com

Can I take screenshots with CA:DE? We do not have a mechanism to take screenshots built into CA:DE. However, Windows has built-in functionality for this. Hit Start+G while in CaptureAge to bring up Windows's gaming menu. You can use this to configure a shortcut to take screenshots and a custom folder to save them to. NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel all provide their own alternative solutions for this, as well.

Can I lock a player's point of view with CA:DE? This is not supported currently.

Why does CA:DE run poorly on my computer? While we worked hard to ensure CA:DE is optimized, running it alongside the game inherently demands more from the system than running the game alone. Because of this, not every computer that runs AoE smoothly will be able to also run CA:DE smoothly alongside it. To have the best performance, it is advised that you run CA:DE Recordings instead, which don't require the game to be running.
