CaptureAge provides services for watching and analysing video games.
Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms", "Terms and Conditions") carefully before using this website, the CaptureAge Classic desktop application for UserPatch ("CAC"), the CaptureAge for Definitive Edition desktop application ("CA:DE") or any other products or applications associated with our services (collectively, the "Service") operated by CaptureAge ("us", "we", or "our").
Some terms here are specific to the application you are using while others apply to both CAC and CA:DE. The word "Applications" is used to refer to CAC and CA:DE collectively where relevant.
By subscribing or otherwise using the Service you acknowledge that you have read and understood the Agreements, accept the Agreements and agree to be bound by them. If you don’t agree or cannot comply with the Agreements then you may not use the CaptureAge Service.
From time to time we may make changes to the Agreements. We will notify you of any changes by updating this page.
In the case of material changes we will let you know via email and/or a prominent notice on our Service, prior to the change becoming effective and update the "effective date" at the top of these Terms.
Continued usage of the Service constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not want to accept the new Agreements then you may terminate your account by contacting us.
Free usage of CA:DE is available to all owners of Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition. However, some features in CA:DE are only available to users with a Paid Subscription.
Paid Subscriptions may grant access to and permission to use additional features in the Applications that are not otherwise available. Different payment amounts may correspond to different sets of features, called a "Subscription Type", "Subscription Tier" or "Reward Level". Paid Subscriptions are specific to an application: a Paid Subscription to CAC does not change your access to features in CA:DE or vice versa.
When you sign up for a Paid Subscription you must provide us with information that is accurate and complete, and you must keep this information up to date. Failure to provide us with accurate and complete information may cause your account to become inaccessible, and for us to be unable to provide support or refunds of any fees paid.
If you purchase a Paid Subscription you may cancel this subscription at any time, for any or no reason, during the first 14 days after you first signed up for the service (the “Cooling-Off Period”) for a full refund of any fees paid to CaptureAge. Subsequent subscriptions will not be eligible for the Cooling-Off Period. To cancel a Paid Subscription and receive a refund during the Cooling-Off Period please contact us.
A Paid Subscription lasts for one calendar month, and will recur automatically. By entering into a Paid Subscription you authorise CaptureAge to charge you automatically each month until you cancel. You may cancel your Paid Subscription through the self-service options on your profile page or by contacting CaptureAge. Cancellations will take effect the day after the last day of the current subscription period, unless they are in the Cooling-Off Period, in which case they take effect as soon as they are processed.
You may change your Subscription Type at any time. If you upgrade your old Subscription Type to a new Subscription Type that has a higher fee than your current Subscription Type, then you will be charged a prorated fee to cover the remainder of your current billing period and your new Subscription Type will begin immediately. If the new Subscription Type has a lower fee than the current Subscription Type then your new Subscription Type will begin at the start of your next billing period.
CaptureAge will not refund any fees if you cancel or change your subscription at any time other than during the Cooling-Off Period.
We may change the price charged to qualify for different Subscription Types. Price changes will take effect from the beginning of the next subscription period following the date of the price change. We will notify you at least 30 days before increases to the price of your subscription and you may reject the change by cancelling your Subscription prior to the change taking effect.
The Service and the associated applications are the property of CaptureAge. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable permission to use the website.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable permission to make personal, non-commercial use of the Applications in line with these Terms. We also grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable permission to make commercial use of the Applications by creating and/or distributing live or pre-recorded footage of your use of the Applications (for example, by streaming your usage of the Applications on Twitch or uploading footage of your usage of the Applications to YouTube). We do not grant you permission to use the Applications for any other commercial use. If you are not sure whether your intended commercial usage of the Applications is allowed then please contact us.
These licenses extend solely to the intellectual property of the Applications themselves. Your licenses with respect to any assets accessible via the Applications that are part of the relevant games are unchanged by these Terms and are governed by your existing licenses with the intellectual property holder(s) of those assets.
You agree to abide by our user guidelines (see the “User Guidelines” section). The Applications or any other parts of the Service are not sold or transferred to you and CaptureAge retains ownership of all copies of all CaptureAge software applications.
You may only use the Applications on a limited number of devices, as specified by your Subscription Type, or one if unspecified. You may change which devices your permission applies to, but we may limit how frequently you can change your device(s).
Except for the rights expressly granted to you in these Agreements, we do not grant any right, interest or title to you in the CaptureAge Service or any associated software application.
You must own a legal copy of the Age of Empires version corresponding to the application you are using: for CAC you must own Age of Empires II, and for CA:DE you must own Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition.
You agree not to, and you will not permit others to:
Previously, when subscribing for a Paid or Unpaid Subscription you had the option to donate to the Community Pool. These donations are used exclusively for funding community events and projects, like show matches, tournaments and other projects. They will not be used to fund development and support of the CaptureAge service itself.
We will provide full details of how Community Pool donations are used on this website as and when they are used.
The Agreements shall remain in effect until terminated by you or CaptureAge.
CaptureAge may terminate these Agreements with or without prior notice, including in the event of your non-compliance with the Agreements.
You may terminate the Agreements by contacting CaptureAge.
Upon termination of the Agreements, you shall cease all use of the Applications and delete all copies of the Applications from your devices.
The Service is provided on an “as is” basis. CaptureAge disclaims all warranties about the Service to the fullest extent permitted by law.
The Service is provided on an “as is” basis. CaptureAge will not be liable for any general, special, incidental or consequential damages arising from or in connection with your access or use, or inability to access or use, the Service.
If any provision of this Agreement is held to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision will be changed and interpreted to accomplish the objectives of such provision to the greatest extent possible under applicable law and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Any feedback or ideas you may have shared with us or our employees, either upon request or unsolicited, including those aimed at new features, advertising campaigns, promotions, products, technologies, processes, materials, artwork, marketing plans or product names, does not give you the right to make any claims for reimbursement or indicate the intent to hire, unless explicitly communicated otherwise in writing. We may decide to reimburse you, monetarily or otherwise, or give any other token of appreciation, but this may not be interpreted as payment for work done.
